(Paid in 3, 6, and 12 months) Nursing Student Loan Paydown Program up to $20,000 Who We Are: The surge unit is a 14 bed unit that specializes in providing inpatient level of care to patients who are awaiting inpatient bed placement. We specialize in cardiac/telemetry and medical/surgical patients. The surge unit is overseen by the CICU inpatient managers. This position is based in the CICU, primarily assigned to the Surge Unit, with the expectation that you will float to other areas as needed. Strong teamwork and communication skills preferred as there will be collaboration with the ER and inpatient units. The surge RN has a 1:4 patient ratio and LNA 1:14. About the Job: The surge nurse delivers care to patients and families with needs ranging from basic to complex utilizing the nursing process. Creates a therapeutic and caring environment for patients and families. Practices in a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital Interprofessional Practice model; the ANA’s Social Policy Statement, Scope and Standards of Practice, and the Nursing Code of Ethics; and relevant specialty standards of practice.
