Interprets philosophy and objectives of agency and Nursing Department to patients/clients, families and other groups. Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences. Performs other professional nursing activities as delegated by nursing service administration. Minimum Qualifications A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and One (1) year of clinical nursing experience in the specialty area in which assigned to float; and Holds or obtains a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). Psychiatrist needed / Part time Detention center in Brooklyn Job Description/Scope of Work: We are looking for a psychiatrist to join the Health Services Department at a detention center in Brooklyn. The Psychiatrist will conduct examinations on patients scheduled by the institution's medical staff. Responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations and making referral recommendations for inmates. Each workday will consist of eight (8) sessions, totaling two (2) workdays per week (16 sessions + unpaid half-hour lunch). The candidate will have eight (8) sessions to complete a workday.
