Description 3041119: Staff Nurse - CSICU - Mount Sinai Hospital - Full Time Night The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Responsibilities Patient Care 1. Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. 2. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management. 3. The Radiology Registered Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. POSITION SUMMARY: To assist surgeons and registered nurses by performing routine, technical, and related duties during surgical operations. To provide safe and competent care to all patients in a variety of age groups and function effectively with a variety of patient physical and emotional disabilities. To be responsible for the daily cleaning and processing of equipment, providing for the between case turnover by removing, cleaning, and decontamination of equipment used by the team, and ensuring clean equipment for each procedure. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal accredited Surgical Technology Program or military training required. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years experience or completion of a formal internship through an accredited Surgical Technology Program. SPECIAL SKILLS: CST and member of the Association of Surgical Technologist preferred. CPR Certification required. Responsibilities We are actively hiring for an Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp PACU. Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA . Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures to include the patient’s cardiovascular system, respiratory system and airway management needs, neurological system, hemodynamic stability, pain and comfort needs, and mental status. Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors. Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes. Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions. Apply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer ( e.g. , Aldrete Score, Modified Aldrete Score [ i.e. , PARSAP], Post Anesthesia Discharge Scoring System [PADSS], White) score accurately as defined by organizational policy. Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care. Implement the plan of care including the following interventions: Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – general. Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – monitored anesthesia care. Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – regional.
