Description Job Title: Nursing Attendant Float Pool-Full Time Night 11pm-7:15am-MSM The Nursing Attendant is an individual who functions in a support role to the Registered Professional Nurse by providing direct patient care and related activities as assigned. Responsibilities Assists the nursing staff in performing selected nursing procedures, treatments, and functional tasks to specific patients including vital signs: Temperature, Pulse, Respirations, Blood Pressure and Pain Rating. Provides support to the family/significant others. Secures property. Obtains, assembles and maintains equipment for use during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Assists members of the health care team with physical exam and other procedures. Conducts purposeful hourly rounding for assigned patients noting: Pain, Position, Proactive Toileting and Possessions Participates in the patient belonging process, including reporting of valuables to the RN and documenting accordingly. Transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed, and escorts ambulatory patients. Performs errands away from the area of assignment to implement the care of patients Including transporting stat specimens and/or obtaining supplies as necessary. Maintains a clean uncluttered and tidy environment. Maintains equipment and cleans as necessary. Stocks supplies. Works in a safe manner and provides for the safety of patients and other employees. Utilizes aggression control measures in the care of patients who are verbally or physically threatening. Assists the RN with the application of restraints as required. Performs patient observations for Safety, constant/One to One and/or every 20 minutes checks of assigned observation status. Description The Medical Assistant I provides clinical office support to physicians and surgeons and performs patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care. Enters orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system or prepares prescription refill requests on behalf of the physician for the review and approval by the ordering physician. 4. Inventories, orders or re-stocks medical supplies as applicable. 5. Provides set-up of examination room and instruments in accordance with proper sterilization techniques established by hospital and infection control policies. 6. Maintains logging system as required for refrigeration of medications, point of care testing, sterilization process, crash cart, point of care testing or others as needed. 7. Checks expiration dates on all medications and medical supplies disposing appropriately as per institution policy. 8. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations. 9. Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infections body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation and other hazardous substances. 10. Assists in the maintenance of medical charts (filing, Op Reports, test results, home care forms). 11. May schedule surgeries/procedures or work in conjunction with Surgical Coordinator verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admissions and consent forms as necessary. 12. May be required to perform proficient phlebotomy duties. 13. May perform appointment scheduling and registration for patients as well as updating patient demographic and insurance information. 14. May maintain, adjust and confirm patient office schedule. 15. May check and verify and update insurance information utilizing internal or web sources. 16. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) – Inpatient, Nights Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000 per year Job Type: Full-Time (three 12-hour night shifts per week) Location: Brooklyn, NY About Ditmas Children's Nursing & Rehab Ditmas Children's Nursing & Rehab is an inpatient subacute pediatric facility specializing in the care of medically complex children from birth to 21 years. Within our 21-bed unit, we treat a wide range of genetic, neurological, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and orthopedic conditions, with each child receiving an individualized plan built around both medical and rehabilitation goals. About the Role We are hiring a full-time Inpatient Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for our night team. In this role, you'll provide direct, comprehensive care to medically complex children in our subacute unit, serving as a lead clinical presence overnight and working alongside a tight-knit interdisciplinary team. You'll own the full continuum of care for your patients and play a central role in helping them reach their medical and rehabilitation goals. This is a long-term, career pediatric position.
