Advanced Practice Provider - (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

Overview Under the daily supervision of the Department Administrator, and Clinical Supervision of a Psychiatrist, this role functions as an Advanced Practice Provider within EVMS Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This role will enable the Department Psychiatrists to expand their capacity to perform comprehensive new patient evaluations, and to provide patient care for patients that have established and determined diagnosis. This Advanced Practice Provider will also play a pivotal role in the Department's Next Day Clinic (NDAC). Responsibilities Evaluates New Patients. Overview This is a full-time position for a Medical Assistant within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology - Urogynecology division providing outpatient care to patients and supporting physicians across all clinical areas of the practice. The role is responsible for assisting providers and nurses with patient examinations, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality, patient-centered care. This position requires travel between all office locations and throughout all divisions to meet the department’s demands. Responsibilities Clinical Patient Care and Procedural Support – 60% Assist physicians, providers, and nurses in the daily care of patients. Overview The Medical Assistant plays an integral role in delivering exceptional patient care within the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) Division. Working collaboratively with physicians and advanced practice providers, this position supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with complex benign gynecologic conditions. Responsibilities include providing direct clinical support during patient visits, assisting with minor in-office procedures, preparing examination and procedure rooms, and ensuring efficient clinical workflows. The role also encompasses a variety of administrative responsibilities to support daily clinic operations, promote continuity of care, and enhance the overall patient experience. Responsibilities Clinical & Patient Care Support — 55% Reviews and prepares patient charts, obtaining all pertinent documentation for new and postoperative patients. May draw blood and administer injections under the immediate supervision of a physician or RN, as permitted by training and scope of practice.
