Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records electronically (EPIC). Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; and evaluating new equipment and techniques. Complete and document required direct patient diabetes education hours and continuing education units (CEUs) to meet eligibility requirements for the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) examination, expected within two years of hire. Develop and coordinate diabetes-focused educational initiatives, including CEU accredited programs for inpatient nursing staff and community healthcare providers, to support continuing education and evidence-based practice.
