OP Nurse Coordinator I- Flex, Fulltime

UPMC is hiring a full-time, flex OP Nurse Coordinator to support the UPMC Shadyside Centre Avenue Cancer Pavilion. This position serves as a key clinical resource for patients and the multidisciplinary care team, providing triage for incoming telephone calls and MyUPMC messages, coordinating patient care needs, and offering clinical support to team members. Responsibilities include ongoing review of surgeons' schedules to ensure accurate diagnoses, appropriate scheduling, and required medical records are obtained, as well as monitoring inpatient follow-up, discharge care, and post-hospital visits. The Nurse Coordinator will work closely with providers to facilitate seamless patient care throughout the cancer treatment journey. This role's home base is UPMC Shadyside, with travel to UPMC Presbyterian approximately once a week or every other week. Consistent clinic coverage is required on Mondays and Wednesdays, with flexible full-time scheduling around clinic needs. No evenings, weekends, or holidays are required, providing an excellent work-life balance while supporting high-quality oncology care. The hospice aide will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a patient's care. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities of the hospice aide include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Performing personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediately. 2. Providing patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality. 3. Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.) 4.
