Overview NaphCare is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs ) to join our team of medical professionals in Dayton, OH, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail. As a Correctional Registered Nurse (RN ), you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to: Performing initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals. Monitoring and documenting patient health including vital signs, medical histories. Providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating services. Managing acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes. Responding to medical emergencies, providing first aid, and ensuring timely transport to appropriate healthcare facilities. Educating patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention. Understanding and adhering to correctional facility security protocols, while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. Maintaining accurate medical records, documenting treatment plans, and reporting any relevant information. Qualifications Experience / Requirements / Qualifications Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within the OH Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required) Knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services. We love to celebrate our team! • FUN and Friendly Work Environment - GREAT leadership team! • Supportive Staffing Ratios Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct nursing care to residents according to care plans and physicians’ orders. • Administer medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner. • Monitor and document residents’ health status, reporting any significant changes to the RN or physician. • Assist with resident assessments and the development of individualized care plans. • Supervise and direct CNAs and other nursing assistants in delivering daily care. • Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations. • Respond to emergencies and follow proper protocols. • Support residents and families with health education and emotional support. • Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and HIPAA standards. • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, audits, and in-service training. Qualifications : • Valid LPN license in the state of employment • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program • CPR/BLS certification (required or able to obtain upon hire) • At least 1 year of nursing experience (long-term care preferred, but not required) • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and time-management skills Join us as a Licensed Practical Nurse today!
