The Licensed Practical Nurse (per diem) works under the direction of a registered nurse to provide nursing care, to assist the patient in learning self-care techniques and to prepare clinical and progress notes. Qualifications EDUCATION Graduated from an approved Practical Nurses Education Program EXPERIENCE Minimum one year experience in the acute care setting. Home care experience preferred but not required. LICENSURE License Practical Nurse with valid (or eligible) Connecticut license required. A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance are required when using a personal vehicle for company business. Access to a dependable vehicle in order to travel to multiple stops a day. CPR certification is required and must be maintained. Candidates who do not have certification are required to obtain it within 3 months (90 days) of hire. SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent verbal and written skills. Excellent clinical knowledge. Strong computer skills. PHYSICAL DEMAND Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which includes heavy lifting, extensive bending, administering CPR, patient bracing, standing, and stairs. Requires exposure to blood and body fluids, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases. Job Description RN WEEKEND WARRIORS Registered Nurse Working Supervisor Rate: $60/ hour includes shift differentials Available Shifts: 7am-7pm Every Saturday and Sunday = 24 hr/ weekly The RN Nurse Supervisor plans, controls and executes the nursing services required by the residents. Supervises the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements, to ensure that the residents receive the highest quality of care at all times. Together with the Nursing Director, the RN Registered Nurse Supervisor plans the operation of nursing services and the provision of emergency support requirements for tour of duty. Plans the coordination of nursing activities in line with medical needs, physician instructions and the general nursing care plan. Coordinates the activities of charge nurses to ensure proper care of residents. In conjunction with medical staff, adjusts the care plan to meet emergency medical needs. In the absence of superiors, the RN Registered Nurse Supervisor assumes total responsibility for operating decisions required by the circumstances of the moment. Takes responsibility for management of emergency situations as the need develops. Ensures presence of appropriate relief staff to assume responsibility prior to leaving the facility. Ensures notification of resident’s personal physician if there is a significant change in the condition of the resident or if the resident requires immediate medical care. Job Summary: Wadsworth Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, a 102-bed skilled nursing facility in Middletown, is seeking a dynamic and experienced RN MDS Director to join our team. As the RN MDS Director, you will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and directing the MDS process, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality care and services. This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive hourly rate and weekly pay. Up to $45 an hour, depending on experience. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), the primary purpose of your job position is to provide your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with our established nursing care procedures, and as may be directed by the licensed staff nurse. Experience & Education: Must possess an active and unencumbered CNA license in Connecticut. CPR certification preferred, but not necessary. New graduates welcome! Duties & Responsibilities: Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident. Participate in planning and following current resident care plan on all residents under his/her care. Complete resident assignments effectively and promptly. Observe changes in resident conditions and promptly report them. Document accurately and completely. Meet personal grooming needs for each resident. Promptly answer call lights and assure that all are placed within reach of the resident. Assure the resident care areas are left clean and in an orderly manner. Methods of identification of residents are maintained. Maintain that all residents are appropriately identified (i.e., I.D. bracelets, etc.). Demonstrate correct safety techniques in accord with orientation and training processes of Athena and your specific job description. Other duties assigned by manager. Specific Requirements: Must have knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies and utilize appropriately. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices. Must be able to communicate effectively with appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
