Performs housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathroom Performs patient-specific activities that are taught by a Right at Home nurse. These could include (but are not limited to): Medication reminders Assisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises Measuring and preparing special diets Understanding dementia care Incontinence care Qualifications and Skills: Home Heath Aid Certificate or Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (Required) At least 1 year of experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare (in homes or facilities) (Recommended). Responsibilities Job Summary This position requires a thorough understanding of the facility’s treatment program and philosophy, admission process and criteria, support and administrative services, medical knowledge of various aspects of alcoholism, drug abuse and dual diagnosis. This individual is a member of the treatment team providing professional level of nursing care to patients under minimum supervision and consultation. This is a complex position which directs and guides activities on the unit and assignments of ancillary personnel assigned to unit and shift. Duties and Responsibilities: Calls the appropriate team member (i.e. Medical Director) with all non-life threatening medical and medication issues to obtain guidance regarding his plan of action for the client. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, all staff members are authorized to contact emergency services by dialing 911. Identifies client care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to clients and families. Promotes client's independence by establishing client care goals, teaching client to understand condition, medications and self-care requirements; answering questions. Qualifications Education/Experience: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) OR Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Current RN License in in State of operations required. CPR and First Aid Certified. Knowledge of addiction and drug treatment preferred. Functions with an awareness of patient safety issues and applies basic principles of safety as identified within the facility. Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
