The RN2 is responsible for assessing physical and psychosocial status of patients in an outpatient clinic setting by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies. Assist physicians in performing medical procedures, up to and including blood drawing, vital signs and nursing assessments, history and physical. This position requires travel to multiple clinic locations. Assesses assigned patients and evaluates plans to include documentation of nursing care. Reports symptoms and changes in patients’ condition and vital signs. Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions, and physician orders. Plans, prioritizes, and adjusts assignments to accomplish goals and render superior patient care; seeks assistance when needed. Administers medications and maintains accurate records related to medications and treatments as per regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders. Manages refills and referrals for all providers that come in via fax, call or in basket as needed. Provides in basket message coverage for Providers as needed. Maintains EMR inbox and closes encounters in a timely fashion according to department guidelines. Performs phlebotomy, ear lavage, EKG, vaccine immunizations, and injections. Responsible for calling patients with results and physician instructions as well as pre-visit phone calls with the patients. Assists with clinic equipment and supply orders as needed. Works with other clinical and non-clinical members of the Executive Health team to deliver high-quality care to our patients. Interact with high profile patients in a professional demeanor. Experience in ambulatory nursing preferred. Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system is preferred. Operates appropriate medical equipment used in practice. Effective communication skills, solid customer service skills, and prompt responsiveness are essential in the role. Adapts to changing work demands and environment. Anticipates potential problems and assists nurse leader(s) in the development of contingency plans.
