Registered Nurse - RN – Bleeding Disorder and Sickle Cell Nurse Education Specialist

Position Summary This is a position that can require (including overnight) travel to 75% of the time. The Bleeding Disorder and Sickle Cell Nurse Education Specialist with CVS Health will further develop relationships with patients, healthcare providers, homecare providers, hospitals, treatment centers and manufacturer accounts plus assist the National Sales Director, Regional Sales Managers, and Program/Therapy Manager in meeting and achieving national goals and objectives. The position reports to the CVS Specialty Nursing Director and Nurse Manager and will also coordinate closely with Bleeding Disorder Sales, Oncology Sales (currently serving Sickle Cell Disease), Payor Sales, Program Management, Pharmacy Operations and Nursing as needed. The Bleeding Disorder and Sickle Cell Nurse Education Specialist will: - Provide support and/or education to nursing staff who are caring for patients affected by a bleeding disorder or sickle cell anemia. - Work with nurse specialists who coordinate nursing care to identify Coram and/or Home Health Agency nurses that haven’t received training regarding bleeding disorder or sickle cell disease and establish time to provide training individually or in a group setting. This can be done in person or virtually. - Market company services including educational programs related to all aspects of Bleeding Disorders such as Hemophilia and/or Sickle Cell Disease management and related topics to existing patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacy, and customers through personal visits. - Maintain and develop established account relationships within assigned region/territory. - Conduct clinical presentations for physicians, nurses, social workers, hospital administrators, and pharmacy. - Create and conduct educational or training presentations to customers, support groups, and others in the bleeding disorder and/or sickle cell communities. - Update educational materials as needed - Coordinate clinical sales efforts with internal resources: i.e., marketing, reimbursement, payor team, program management and nursing. - Present CE programs to medical practice offices, home health agency nurses and others as requested. - Provide school presentation and accompanying materials to school nurses and staff to assist students and families affected by a bleeding disorder or sickle cell disease to have a smoother transition to a school program. - Maintain current clinical and product knowledge and awareness of competitors’ activities through review of information from the field and home office. - Establish daily goals, follow up contacts and devises appropriate marketing strategies. - Support and network within the bleeding disorder and sickle cell communities, attend and participate in local, regional, national events, and conferences. - Partner with the Bleeding Disorder and Oncology field sales team and the payor team, assisting to troubleshoot payor issues/concerns directly involving hemophilia members as needed - Have interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail - Ability to work independently, have a strong work ethic, outgoing personality, and positive attitude. - Provide excellent follow-up and effective time management skills - Represent CVS Health in a professional manner at all functions Required Qualifications - Registered Nurse (RN) residing in a compact state holding a multistate license - Minimum 5 years nursing experience to include Hematology, Sickle Cell and Bleeding Disorder expertise and experience - Ability for overnight travel up to 50% of time or as determined by business needs - Possess a valid and current driver’s license and auto insurance - Experience with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word to document activity, WebEx, and other virtual platforms Education - RN Diploma, Associates or B.S. degree in nursing Business Overview It’s a new day in health care.
