Job Summary The Nurse Manager is a professional nurse leader with 24-hour accountability for the operational, clinical, quality, financial, and people outcomes of one or more patient care units. Serving as the vital link between organizational strategy and frontline care delivery, the Nurse Manager fosters a culture of safety, compassion, professional practice, innovation, and continuous improvement. The Nurse Manager leads interdisciplinary teams to achieve exceptional patient outcomes, workforce engagement, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Ensures delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Maintains required licensure, credentials and certifications. Requirements Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field strongly preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive clinical nursing experience. Minimum of 2 years of leadership, charge nurse, supervisor, assistant nurse manager, or equivalent experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, staff development, and operational management preferred. Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Rhode Island. Specialty certification in relevant clinical area required within two years of hire or appointment. Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC, NEA-BC) preferred. BLS credential required; additional certifications or credentials as appropriate for clinical area. Ability to move throughout patient care and administrative areas. Ability to use computer systems for extended periods. Ability to respond effectively during emergency situations.
