Orientation of new nurses as needed Administer medications and complete MAR Complete labs necessary for treatment (HCG, urine, BAC, glucometer) Administer IM and SQ medications and Narcan as needed Ensure labs are being addressed, reviewed, obtaining and transcribing of physician orders. Follow proper consent procedures. Involved in Performance Improvement Projects. Nursing competency and evaluation completion. Follow Evidence Based Practice guidelines Nursing assessments, treatment plans, medication administration, vitals, follow detox protocols and other medical protocols along with assisting medical provider as needed. Patients that are admitted to the Pediatric Unit will include those aged two (2) days to eighteen (18) years. We care for patients with a wide range of complexities which include High Flow Nasal Cannula, any patient that needs higher acuity medical attention will be transferred to another facility. In the case of a medical/surgical patient surge, adult patients may be admitted to the Pediatric Unit that have medical and surgical diagnoses requiring a mild level of care, with the expectation of a brief and uncomplicated hospitalization. Scheduling Requirements (Tier 3): Work a minimum of seven shifts per six-week schedule. Two of these shifts must be fulfilled on the weekend. Work two holidays per calendar year.
