This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work being performed. When conducting visits, you will be paid per visit point rate compensation. Your per visit pay will be calculated by multiplying your per visit point rate by the productivity points you accrue for various types of visits. Each type of visit is assigned a certain number of productivity points that is inclusive of 'direct' and 'indirect' patient care activities. Visits are assigned based on patient and business needs. The number of visits performed each week will vary based on individual productivity targets and the productivity points assigned to the visits performed. The Medical Progressive Care Unit at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 21-bed high acuity step-down unit, caring for critically ill adult medical patients. Patient population includes those with complex organ disease, requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive drips, and continuous monitoring. Common medical diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleed, liver failure, and DKA. This is a highly skilled floor, from which new staff will gain instrumental experience. Nurse to patient ratios are 3:1. There is opportunity for growth on the MPCU, regardless of where you are in your career!
