Job Description North Star Academy Nurses promote health and safety in the school environment and provides health services to students, faculty and staff. As the school health services specialist, nurses assist our students and staff in attaining and/or maintaining optimum health, and promoting positive health habits and attitudes Responsibilities Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness Keep track of students' vaccination records and follows up with families as needed Update students' medical history and files accordingly Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases) Ensure compliance with national and local health laws Qualifications BSN preferred LPN as long as they are willing to go back to school to get their RN degree to become school certified (Tuition will be reimbursed) Additional Information Our people are what make us Uncommon. Compensation Compensation for this role is between $60,000 to $110,000. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $60,000-$74,000. Position Summary Under the direction of the Provider, Practice Manager/Supervisor and/or Service Line Director performs direct clinical activities in a courteous, caring, and respectful manner. These include patient intake, blood draw, pharmacy calls, EKG and any tests required by the physician. Responsible for accurately documenting an EMR system in accordance with licensure and Valley Medical Group (VMG) policies and procedures. Maintains close working relationships with all practice staff to ensure proper workflow, care and treatment. Education High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal Medical Assistant program that is recognized by the State of New Jersey. Current and valid certification as a certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant recognized by the Board of Examiners such as American Medical Technology (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required. Experience Previous MA experience in a clinic, physician's office or outpatient setting preferred. Skills Understanding of the operations of a medical practice preferred. Strong orientation towards the provisions of high quality, cost effective and comprehensive medical care.
