Job Description The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse 1, Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Distinguishing Characteristics The Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) is a full performance level nurse position and possesses a license as a registered professional nurse in New York State; under the general direction of a higher level registered nurse or licensed health care provider, independently provides direct nursing care to individuals in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law; supervises nursing care activities; and provides clinical supervision and training to Graduate Nurses (T&RC), Teaching & Research Center Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff. Triages individuals by inquiring about illnesses, injuries, and symptoms, and records findings and observations. Provides education and counseling to individuals and families regarding health, medications, procedures, and treatment goals. Practices and ensures compliance with established infection control policies and procedures. The Assistant Team Lead RN will assist with the day-to-day coordination of clinical services, support RN Case Managers, help ensure quality patient care, and promote compliance with hospice regulations, company policies, and clinical standards. Medical Assistant Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s) Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities Qualifications Dermatology experience preferred Healthcare experience preferred Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Excellent patient relation and customer services skills Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends Hourly Pay Range: $19-24 Schweiger, is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate in its hiring process with applicants, whether internal or external, because of race, creed, color, age, national origin, ancestry, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, genetic information, veteran status, military status, application for military service or any other class per local, state or federal law.
