Full-Time 1:1 School Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Location : Tacoma, Washington Position Overview The 1:1 School Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides dedicated, individualized healthcare support to a specific student throughout the school day. This role ensures the students medical, physical, and safety needs are met, allowing them to fully access their educational program. The LPN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with Washington State nursing regulations and school district policies. Key Responsibilities Direct Student Care (1:1 Support) Provide continuous, one-on-one nursing care to an assigned student during the school day Implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs), physician orders, and emergency care plans Administer medications and treatments in accordance with Washington State law and district policies Monitor, assess, and document the students health status, including vital signs and symptom changes Daily Assistance & Safety Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, feeding, toileting, and positioning Support use and monitoring of medical equipment (e.g., feeding tubes, oxygen, tracheostomy care, seizure protocols) as required Ensure student safety across all school environments (classroom, recess, transportation, field trips) Respond quickly and appropriately to medical emergencies Collaboration & Communication Work closely with the supervising RN, teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student health and daily updates Support inclusion by enabling the student to participate in academic and social activities Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and district requirements Document all nursing interventions, medications administered, and incidents Follow Washington Administrative Code (WAC) and Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC) standards Qualifications- Required Current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (active and in good standing) CPR and First Aid certification Ability to work independently in a 1:1 setting Strong clinical skills and attention to detail Preferred Experience in pediatric, school-based, or 1:1 care settings Experience supporting students with complex medical needs Knowledge of special education environments and student supports Key Competencies Compassion, patience, and student-centered approach Strong communication and collaboration skills Reliability and consistency in providing care Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergencies Professional discretion and confidentiality Compensation for this position ranges from $27.43 to $47.43. Job Description Job Description The UW Medical Center – Harborview has an outstanding leaderships opportunity for a Director of Surgical Services Clinical Operations. WORK SCHEDULE 100%, Day This position is expected to take rotating call with other leaders in the department. Department Description The General Surgery Clinic at Harborview provides consultation for general and surgical conditions, as well as pre- and post-operative follow-up for patients with traumatic injuries, wound management and suture removal. We also perform minor operations in our specially equipped ambulatory procedures area including cyst and skin tag removals, incision and drainage of abscesses, rigid sigmoidoscopies and hemorrhoid evaluation and management. Following an initial consultation, these procedures will usually be scheduled for a subsequent visit. Job Title/Position: Admission RN Reports To: Clinical Director $5000 Sign-On Bonus JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Admission RN plans, organizes and directs hospice care and is experienced in nursing, with emphasis on community health education/experience. The professional nurse builds from the resources of the community to plan and direct services to meet the needs of individuals and families within their homes and communities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care 1. Completes an initial, comprehensive and ongoing comprehensive assessment of patient and family to determine hospice needs. Provides a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illness(es). 2. Provides professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of the nursing process. 3. Assesses and evaluates patient’s status by: A. Writing and initiating plan of care B. Regularly re-evaluating patient and family/caregiver needs C. Participating in revising the plan of care as necessary 4. Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as patient status and needs change. 5. Uses health assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis. 6. Develops a care plan that establishes goals, based on nursing diagnosis and incorporates palliative nursing actions. Includes the patient and the family in the planning process. 7. Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician in the physician’s plan of care. 8. Counsels the patient and family in meeting nursing and related needs. 9. Provides health care instructions to the patient as appropriate per assessment and plan. 10. Assists the patient with the activities of daily living and facilitates the patient’s efforts toward self-sufficiency and optional comfort care. 11. Acts as Case Manager when assigned by Clinical Supervisor and assumes responsibility to coordinate patient care for assigned caseload. Communication 1. Completes, maintains and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patient’s condition and care given. Records pain/symptom management changes/outcomes as appropriate. 2. Communicates with the physician regarding the patient’s needs and reports changes in the patient’s condition; obtains/receives physicians’ orders as required. 3. Communicates with community health related persons to coordinate the care plan. 4. Teaches the patient and family/caregiver self-care techniques as appropriate. Provides medication, diet and other instructions as ordered by the physician and recognizes and utilizes opportunities for health counseling with patients and families/caregivers. Works in concert with the interdisciplinary group. 5. Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient. 6. Assists the patient and family/caregiver and other team members in providing continuity of care. Additional Duties 1. Ensures that arrangements for equipment and other necessary items and services are available. 2. Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development and maintains and upgrades professional knowledge and practice skills through attendance and participation in continuing education and inservice classes. 3. Fulfills the obligation of requested and/or accepted case assignments. 4. Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
