Job Description Join a highly skilled, dynamic group of APPs in the outpatient clinic in our Hematology, Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapies department at the Parnassus campus of UCSF Health. Our acclaimed program draws patients from around the world seeking effective and innovative therapies to treat their underlying blood disorders or blood cancers. Our patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, or cellular therapies for the treatment of hematologic malignancies. In this position, the APP would work in the outpatient clinic 4 days a week for 10 hours a shift. They will primarily act as an independent billing provider, seeing follow-up visits and hospital discharges. There may be opportunities to incorporate new patient referrals and survivorship visits into your day. The APP will have the opportunity to learn and perform various procedures, including bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures. Responsibilities Evaluates and manages patients in independent APP encounters, including telehealth. Includes providing care to new, follow-up, acute, routine, and specialty patients. Includes taking histories, performing physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating evidence-based assessments and plans, responding to changes in patient status, and ordering medications/diagnostic tests/treatments/therapies/consultations/referrals/durable medical equipment (DME)/home health services. Job Description The BCH Oakland Infusion Center serves the Pediatric Specialty population at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. The treatments include, but are not limited to, apheresis, chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, hydration and electrolyte therapy, injections and blood draws, enzymes and iron infusions, and antibiotics.
