ICU RN Position Summary Patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) have acute care needs, which require continuous monitoring that cannot be provided on the general floors or PCU. The ICU RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The ICU RN acts as a patient advocate. The ICU RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures.
