The Undiagnosed Mass Clinic (UDM) PA-C/ARNP is a physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides dedicated support to this growing Fred Hutch program, which serves as a diagnostic entry point for patients with suspected cancer. The APP provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnostic workup coordination, and medical management for patients referred to suspected malignancy, unexplained mass, or abnormal diagnostic finding requiring further oncologic assessment. The APP independently evaluates new referrals, develops diagnostic plans, orders and interprets testing within scope of practice, coordinates care across specialties, communicates findings to patients and referring providers, and facilitates timely transition to disease-specific oncology teams when cancer is confirmed. When cancer is not identified, the APP collaborates with referring providers and primary care teams to ensure appropriate follow-up and disposition. The UDM APP can practice at the intersection of oncology, diagnostic medicine, and care coordination. Significant collaboration with nurse navigation, pathology, radiology, and disease-specific oncology teams is necessary. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the APP scope of practice, institutional privileges, and under the supervision of an attending physician. This is a part time (50% FTE) position. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive and problem-focused H&P for patients referred to the UDM Clinic. Review referral records, imaging, pathology, lab studies, and prior evaluations. Develop, order, and manage diagnostic workups for patients with suspected malignancy. Interpret and communicate diagnostic findings to patients, referring providers, and consulting teams. Coordinate diagnostic testing, specialty consultations, and follow-up evaluations across multiple disciplines and healthcare settings. Collaborate closely with wide range of team members and specialists to ensure efficient progression through the diagnostic process. Track and manage pending studies, referrals, pathology results, and other diagnostic milestones to ensure timely completion of evaluations. Provide follow-up care and medical management while diagnostic workup is underway. Facilitate hand-offs and referrals to disease-specific oncology services when cancer is diagnosed. Coordinate care transitions back to primary care providers, referring physicians, or other specialty services when malignancy is excluded. Provide patient and caregiver education regarding diagnostic plans, test results, treatment recommendations, and follow-up care. Serve as a clinical resource for nurse navigation and intake referral processes. Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, QI initiatives, and departmental committees as assigned. Communicate effectively with inpatient and outpatient teams to support continuity of care. Participate in program development efforts that support growth, operational efficiency, and access within the UDM Clinic. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program. Current Washington State licensure as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment. DEA registration required upon credentialing. Minimum of four years of APP experience in oncology, hematology, surgical oncology, hospital medicine, internal medicine, or other relevant specialty. Demonstrated clinical expertise in complex patient evaluation and diagnostic reasoning. Strong collaborator with the ability to work effectively independently and with a multidisciplinary team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience utilizing electronic medical record (EMR). Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple patient workups simultaneously. Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with supervising physicians and teams. Preferred: Broad experience in oncology, cancer diagnostics, hematology, and complex medical evaluation. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary care across healthcare systems. Familiarity with cancer screening, diagnostic imaging, pathology review, and oncologic referral pathways. Familiarity using NCCN and other professional guidelines to direct care. Experience with quality improvement and program development initiatives. The annual base salary range for this position is from $140,000 to $210,752, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position. About Total Life Total Life connects adults 65+ with licensed clinicians for behavioral health, geriatric care and longevity services, covered by Medicare, Railroad Medicare and major commercial insurers. Since 2021 we've grown to more than 200 credentialed providers serving patients in 49 states. Most longevity medicine is built for healthy 40-year-olds. Ours is built for older adults. The Longevity Program combines a comprehensive geriatric assessment with chronic disease management, cognitive health, medication review and weight management, organized around five pillars of healthy aging: sleep, nutrition, movement, mental health and social connection. It works alongside a patient's existing care and never replaces their primary care provider. The role This is an in-person contract role. We're looking for nurse practitioners in the Tacoma-South Seattle area to lead longevity days at our partner senior living communities. Each day opens with a short educational talk for residents on healthy aging, using a presentation and speaker notes we provide. You then see the residents who sign up for one-on-one longevity visits. You'll be trained and supported by our Chief Medical Officer, a board-certified geriatrician who designed the program's clinical content. Your first site day is run alongside a member of our team. Schedule Site days are on weekdays. The presentation is the fixed part of the day. The rest depends on how many residents sign up. Expect roughly 4 to 8 hours per site day, a few times a month to start, with hours growing as bookings grow. Each day opens with a short educational talk for residents on healthy aging, using a presentation and speaker notes we provide. You then see the residents who sign up for one-on-one longevity visits. You'll be trained and supported by our Chief Medical Officer, a board-certified geriatrician who designed the program's clinical content. Your first site day is run alongside a member of our team. Schedule Site days are on weekdays. The presentation is the fixed part of the day. The rest depends on how many residents sign up. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Transplant Coordinator RN, you will coordinate all aspects of renal and pancreas transplants and support daily functioning of the transplant section. Every day you will act as case manager using Virginia Mason's Nursing Professional Practice Model, managing patients from initial referral through transplant evaluation, the inpatient stay after transplant, and the transition back to the referring physician. To be successful in this role, you will bring RN transplant experience and strong case management skills. Pre-Transplant Recipient Coordination: Communicate with patients, referring physicians, and dialysis units regarding patient status within the transplant process. Educate patients and caregivers across multiple states and time zones on the transplant process. Coordinate all aspects of patient evaluations, including scheduling medical tests, follow-up appointments, and care coordination. Collaborate with providers, social workers, financial coordinators, and dialysis units to formulate comprehensive transplant plans and post-operative care strategies.
