UPMC is hiring a full-time, flex OP Nurse Coordinator to support the UPMC Shadyside Centre Avenue Cancer Pavilion. This position serves as a key clinical resource for patients and the multidisciplinary care team, providing triage for incoming telephone calls and MyUPMC messages, coordinating patient care needs, and offering clinical support to team members. Responsibilities include ongoing review of surgeons' schedules to ensure accurate diagnoses, appropriate scheduling, and required medical records are obtained, as well as monitoring inpatient follow-up, discharge care, and post-hospital visits. The Nurse Coordinator will work closely with providers to facilitate seamless patient care throughout the cancer treatment journey. This role's home base is UPMC Shadyside, with travel to UPMC Presbyterian approximately once a week or every other week. Consistent clinic coverage is required on Mondays and Wednesdays, with flexible full-time scheduling around clinic needs. No evenings, weekends, or holidays are required, providing an excellent work-life balance while supporting high-quality oncology care. JOB LIMITATIONS The hospice aide will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the Nurse Practice Act. Specifically, the hospice aide will not administer medications, take physician's orders or perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge and skill of a licensed nurse, such as sterile techniques. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 1. Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant course or equivalent training with current license. 2.. High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) 3. Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given. 4. Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill. 5. Prior experience in hospice, orderly, acute , rehabilitative, or long term care facility. 1 year previous home health/hospice experience preferred 6. Basic computer skills to document in electronic medical records (EMR) 7. At least 18 years of age 8. Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization requirements and is in good working order. 9. Must be fully vaccinated BENEFITS 1.
