Registered Nurse (RN) - Endoscopy

Job Overview The Endoscopy RN manages the care of the adult or older patient beginning with the pre-procedure assessment, IV start, and education followed by procedural conscious sedation and monitoring, specimen collection and hands on assistance during the procedure. The RN performs the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). Responsible for proper handling of specimens from patients, properly identifying and preparing specimens for lab. Responsible to perform and assure proper cleaning of endoscopes and equipment and ability to carry out all aspects of equipment reprocessing. Practice Details: Provide inpatient care for critically ill patients in a hybrid role between an intensive care unit and as a critical response provider. While working on the MHealth Fairview Critical Care system APP team you will get a variety of experiences. Though always the potential to float between ICU services (including University SICU or MICU, FSH Med/Surg ICU and West Bank ICU), each APP has a primary ICU they are assigned for the majority of their FTE. About this Unit: The 3rd Floor Orthopedic Surgical Specialty unit at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital is a newly built, 26-bed adult medical/surgical unit focused on total joint replacement and post-operative recovery. Staff also care for a variety of medical patients, offering broad exposure to different diagnoses and care needs. With a healthy, team-oriented work environment and strong support from leadership and education specialists, this unit is ideal for those who thrive in collaborative, fast-paced settings and are eager to grow their skills in orthopedic care. Responsibilities: The Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. We are currently hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Orthopedic/Surgical unit. This position is a .6 FTE straight Evening shifts. 8-hour shifts M-F and 12 hour shifts every third weekends. Current RN License Required. Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience is preferred. An RN position in the Orthopedic/Surgical Unit at Gillette Children's involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients under 18 who are recovering from surgery and require an inpatient stay of one or more nights.
