POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or previous Medical Assistant experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. To qualify for Medical Assistant 2: Current Medical Assistant (MA) certification from the California Certified Medical Assistant Board (CCMA) or the National American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required or an approved certifying body required. Knowledge: Previous experience with injections, EKG’s, medication administration and/or taking vital signs required. Basic computer/data entry and electronic medical record (EMR) experience required. Knowledge of medical terminology, patient/family health education required. Skills: Accurate and clear clinical documentation in Electronic Medical Record. Excels in verbal and written interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to reprioritize work demands as needed. Possesses a pleasant and friendly demeanor and ability to maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude.
