Description Under the general direction of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Case Manager – Utilization Review RN provides clinically based case management and utilization review services to support the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The RN is responsible for concurrent utilization review, medical necessity determination, denial prevention, discharge planning, care coordination, and resource management across the continuum of care. Description Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work in our Hematology Oncology department. The APP will support the department in an ambulatory setting. This role provides comprehensive clinical management for patients enrolled in early-phase oncology clinical trials, including patient assessment, symptom and toxicity management, disease monitoring, and treatment coordination. The APP will care for high-acuity patients in a protocol-driven environment, collaborating closely with physicians, research coordinators, nursing, and pharmacy teams while ensuring compliance with clinical trial protocols and regulatory requirements. Approximately 20 to 25 patient-facing hours per week, supporting two primary physicians while providing coverage for additional patients as needed based on clinical trial protocols and scheduling requirements. Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week, with the opportunity to work 1 remote day per week upon successful completion of orientation.
