The Registered Nurse Will: Provide direct nursing care to patients in a 42-bed Medical Step-Down Unit, caring for patients with complex medical needs. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes in clinical condition. Monitor patients continuously using cardiac, vital-sign, and bedside hemodynamic monitoring systems. Provide 24-hour surveillance of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and recognize abnormal readings or trends. Respond promptly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate nursing interventions within scope of practice. Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care. Educate patients and families, promote safe transitions of care, and support positive patient outcomes and recovery. MDS Coordinator The primary role of the MDS Coordinator is to coordinate and guide the overall process and tracking of all Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents, and care assessments in order to assure appropriate reimbursement for services.
