The RN may work in a variety of settings in the Perioperative Services Complex and roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans. What you will do Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population. Demonstrates nursing unit specific competencies and equipment training, see checklists. Partners with patients and their family to develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Incorporates evidence based standards of practice and collaborates with interdisciplinary team in care coordination. Facilitates safe patient transition to next level of care as part of plan of care. Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to ensure patient receives consistent, competent and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient when addressing service needs to ensure evidence based quality care of patient. Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations. Modifies education method to ensure patient/family understanding. Schedule: To be determined On-call every other week overnights (24/7) and be compensated to do so. Previous Corrections or Emergency Department experience preferred, BUT NOT REQUIRED. AHA BLS Certification is required, and a NJ RN License (or compact license) is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification. What you will do Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary.
