We cover a 4 room Advance Family Surgery center within walking distance of the main hospital. Anesthesiologists are performing anesthesia interviews, placing central lines, placing peripheral nerve blocks, and are readily available for assistance during cases. They routinely come in for induction and emergence. Optional for CRNA’s to perform own spinals in OB. Optional CRNAs to do epidurals. All case types performed except transplants. Limited pediatrics at the main. A good mix of healthy surgery center peds cases. Wide range of general, cardiac, ortho, neuro, GYN, urology, podiatry, ENT, endoscopy, and robotic services. Anesthesia sites include Methodist Medical Center, Advance Family Surgery Center, and Endoscopy Center of Oak Ridge. AC T model with supervision. MDs routinely come in for assistance on induction and emergency. Compensation Details: Lots of potential for additional earning above base salary for those willing to pick up. Overview Nurse Practitioner | Physician Assistant, Float Pool PRN/OCC, Variable Hours and Shifts Covenant Medical Group is Covenant Health’s employed and managed medical practice organization, with more than 300 top Physicians and providers spanning the continuum of care in 20 cities throughout East Tennessee. Specialties include cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, infectious disease, neurology, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, occupational medicine, orthopedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, primary care, pulmonology, reproductive medicine, rheumatology, sleep medicine and urology. Position Summary: Provides primary care to patients under the supervision of a physician preceptor, following established medical protocols. Responsibilities Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. Collaborates with physician preceptor to formulate and review medical protocols. Obtains complete medical history of the patient. Identifies health hazards in the patient's environment as well as patient risk factors. Identifies and considers the cultural patterns, economic status and patient resources in plan of care. Performs appropriate physical exam as indicated. Obtains appropriate laboratory specimens. Analyzes objective and subjective data for appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Assures treatment and/or plan of care is consistent with established protocols. Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records and maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. Documents all pertinent information accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner. Follows Medicare guidelines for accuracy in CPT and ICD coding. Applies the fundamentals of AIDET when communicating with patients. Refers patient to appropriate services which exceed scope of practice of the practitioner. Provide health promotion counseling and develop patient teaching information. Serves as a resource person for other staff personnel. May supervise clinical staff. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Collaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care. Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
