The hospital offers outstanding ancillary services including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapy services. At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. The Women’s Center offers six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites and has a secure nursery for the care of our newborns. It serves an eight-county region in the Lakeway Area and is equipped with modern technologies and expert staff to provide the best possible patient care. Emergency Department: Our 23-bed Emergency Department is equipped with the latest technology including computerized patient tracking, Radiology Services inside the ER and easy access to Surgery, Intensive Care, and other vital areas of the hospital. We are equipped with the only Heart Cath Labs in the Lakeway Area. The Emergency Department is also the area’s only Designated General Pediatric Emergency Facility, offering specialized equipment and advanced training and certification in caring for emergencies involving children. Position Summary: Provides nursing services to Cardiac Catheterization Lab patients in accordance with established nursing standards and practices; sets-up electrical and hemodynamic transducers and amplifiers; records and obtains hemodynamic, electrical and angiographic data; assesses patient during invasive cardiac procedures and delivers therapy as required. Coordinates patient care with other health care professionals. Responsibilities Prepares patient and equipment for catheterization procedures by preparing site of entry, draping patient, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting-up pressure transducers and tubing. Obtains and records hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data by operating hemodynamic and electrical amplifiers and digital and line fluoroscopic equipment. Attends to patient needs during cardiac studies. Develops and contributes to a plan of nursing care for the patient. Administers intravenous and oral medications to patients. Assists in the collection of arterial and venous blood samples and respiratory gases. Precepts/trains new employees/students in the techniques of cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology. Monitors patient’s vital signs during and after cardiovascular procedures. Participates in life-saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Completes nursing history if appropriate. Assesses learning needs of patient and family, develops and initiates teaching plan. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members. Clinical expertise and knowledge of unit are such that complex physician issues are resolved without oversight or supervision. Responds appropriately and timely to patients, physicians and other customers needs. Provides 6 credit hours of in-service per year. Member of established active hospital or department committee or subcommittee with 75% participation in meetings. Functions as a role model to peers by cross-training to other departments, and serving as a resource person. Completes department specific checklist and any additional requirements as needed. Performs a variety of special projects and assignments relating to primary responsibility. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of Cath Lab experience, three (3) total years of RN experience. Knowledge of Critical Care Infusions and procedures is a requirement. Licensure Requirement: Valid RN license with State of TN; ACLS, CPR certification required.

Provides respite care for families in accordance with care plans. Perform/assist with essential shopping/errands, which may include handling the client's money in accordance with the care plan and under the observation of the Supervisor. Assist clients with following a written, special diet plan and reinforcement of diet maintenance, which is provided under the direction of a Physician and as identified on the care plan. Escort clients to medical facilities, errands, shopping and outings as specified in the care plan. Assist in basic client transfers providing the client has been assessed as being capable of ambulating without assistance; and/or, providing another trained caregiver (including family) is involved in the transfer. Assist clients with communication by writing or typing correspondence for them or researching information for them. Provide companionship, friendship and emotional support. Talk, listen, share experiences, play games/cards, read to client etc. Help keep clients in contact with family, friends and the outside world. Provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery store and errands. Accompany clients to recreational and/or social events. Assist with plans for visits and outings. Participate on the Care Team by providing input and making suggestions. Ensure service is delivered in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures and practices. Monitor supplies and resources. Evaluate the program and make recommendations to it, as indicated. Follow the written care plan. Carry out duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Work Environment: The Heart/Lung/Vascular medical/surgical environment provides care of adult patients experiencing primarily pulmonary healthcare concerns. Frequently observed ailments include COPD exacerbation, respiratory viruses, asthma, bronchitis, etc. The IMC is a brand new 21-bed critical care step down unit that provides enhanced nursing services for patients that are too sick to be safely provided care on a medical/surgical unit but may not be in need of the monitoring available in the ICU. Our patients in the IMC are mixed acuity, which means you may encounter cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, urological, gastrointestinal, or endocrine step down patients. How does scheduling work? Scheduling is observed in a four-week period. The nurse manager inputs the schedule and pays close attention to staff requests including desired schedule patterns and vacation times. Job Objectives: Assumes direct responsibility and accountability for, and authority of, the nursing care of all patients assigned. Responsibilities Assesses and identifies the patient's physiological and psycho-social problems and needs. Develops an individualized plan of nursing care for each patient in which goals, in terms of measurable outcomes, are stated. Ensures that nursing care plan is consistent with the medical plan and adheres to accepted current standards of care and practice. Makes appropriate assignments to team members by utilizing patient acuity data, and maintains accountability for members under his/her direction. Ensures nursing care adheres to current hospital/departmental policies, procedures, and regulations. Demonstrates principles of infection control and collaborates with infection control nurse to ensure safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Participates in the orientation of new personnel. Assists clinical instructors in providing learning experiences for nursing students. Documents review and/or revision of each assigned patient's plan of care at least every 24 hours.
