Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The RN is responsible for managing patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures; performs the primary function of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, guiding, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting. 2. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license. BSN preferred. 2. Effective January 6, 2012, must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University. New graduate RN’s in possession of a permit to practice in the State of Texas may provide documentation from their RN program validating their completion of nursing program requirements. 3. Surgical Tech Coordinator at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland: The Surgical Tech Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department. This position is responsible for coordinating department workflow, ensuring compliance with sterilization standards, supporting staff development, maintaining instrument inventory, and serving as a resource for Sterile Processing Technicians. The Coordinator also performs sterile processing duties and works collaboratively with Operating Room staff and physicians to ensure safe, efficient patient care. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) required Current BLS certification. Minimum of 2-5 years of Sterile Processing experience required. Strong knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, and infection prevention practices. Thorough understanding of surgical instrumentation and equipment. Previous leadership, lead technician, preceptor, or coordinator experience preferred.
