The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. Clinical Coordinator (RN) Job Responsibilities: Provide clinical leadership and support to Perioperative Services, including the OR, PACU, Endoscopy, and ACU. Assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing education of a Periop 101 program to support staff competency and professional development. Support staff in obtaining and maintaining applicable certifications and competencies related to Perioperative Services. Ensure the delivery of quality care through the effective application of the nursing process. Stay aware of patients’ needs and communicate any changes to relevant team members. Apply critical thinking and establish priorities when making decisions regarding patient care and staffing. Delegate tasks fairly based on each team member's capabilities, ensuring all work is completed efficiently. Act as an advocate for both patients and staff. Collaborate with the Director/Designee to complete performance evaluations, follow up on staff achievements, and provide counseling and education as needed. Practice cost control measures to ensure efficient resource utilization. Keep the Director/Designee informed of all relevant matters and updates. Adjust assignments and priorities to accommodate changing or increased workloads. Support nursing policies and serve as a change agent when new procedures or policies need to be implemented. Clinical Coordinator (RN) Education and Experience Requirements: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. BSN and CNOR certified required. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut required. Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
