Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities: Accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients in our Psychiatric Inpatient Program. Assesses the health status of patients/families by means of comprehensive health history and physical examination. Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations, and laboratory examination, interprets findings, and alters plan of care according to collaborative practice agreement and protocols in designated area. Educates and counsels in the areas of health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute/chronic illnesses. Documents findings and plan of care in the patient's medical record. Consults with physician per established Day Kimball Hospital policy. Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patients. Registered Nurse (RN) Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required. Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Connecticut is required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent is required; if not currently certified, must obtain within three (3) months of employment. Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area. Current NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or within 3 months of hire required. Registered Nurse (RN) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Trained and competent in responding to events where a patient is out of control or exhibiting inappropriate behavior; ability to de-escalate volatile situations. Demonstrated level of psychological and emotional tolerance and an even temperament in crisis situations. Knowledge in Psychiatric Nursing. Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, effective communication, organizational skills, problem solving, and ability to make appropriate independent decisions. The Meadows Skilled Nursing is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team! **8 Hours Shifts** Hospital Details The Meadows of Central Massachusetts is an 82-bed transitional care facility located alongside Vibra Hospital of Western Massachusetts – Central Campus. The Meadows provides comprehensive skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for individuals in need of specialized medical care before they can return home or to another care setting. Many of our patients have suffered serious injuries or illnesses. As a result, they require day-to-day help while they work toward recovery and regain their independence. Our comprehensive, personalized approach to patient care incorporates therapeutic intervention and medical management. We specialize in providing short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and respite care services. Responsibilities Provides assistance to licensed nursing personnel in the provision of patient care by providing and documenting activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and grooming, and providing a clean, healthy and safe environment. Utilizes basic infection control procedures, basic nutrition and fluid intake skills. Recognizes emergency situations and responds. Required Skills: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Aide or other relevant experience in lieu of education will be considered. Current, valid, and active certification to practice as a Nursing Assistant as applicable in the state of employment required. BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor is required within six months of date of hire. Additional Qualifications/Skills : Acute care/LTAC experience preferred. Ability to project a professional image. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
