Job Summary: Responsible for assisting providers in delivering quality patient care and promoting a culture of safety. Primary Duties: 1. Greets and rooms patients per standard. 2. Takes patients history and vital signs. 3. Prepares patients for exam. 4. Assists provider with exam/surgical procedures and diagnostic testing. 5. Maintains appropriate sterile environment for the clinical procedure or situation, adhering to the Washington State standard for transmission precautions. 6. Administers injections (intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular) per provider orders. Competencies: •Must utilize EMR efficiently and follow appropriate processes for entering and retrieving data from EMR. •Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. License, Certification, Education or Experience: REQUIRED for the position: High School graduate or equivalent or applicable coursework to be applied to obtain required WA State Medical Assistant Certification. • Current WA State Medical Assistant Certification. • Current national certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire • Proficient with medical terminology DESIRED for the position: •National certification through the American Associations of Medical Assistants (AAMA) strongly preferred. •1 year of MA experience in a medical office or healthcare setting. Identifies and escalates data quality concerns, workflow gaps, and performance issues to appropriate stakeholders. Applies established policies, standards, and methodologies related to quality reporting, analytics, and process improvement. Collaborates with Quality Reporting, Quality Analytics, Care Excellence, and operational partners to align data, improvement efforts, and organizational priorities. Qualifications Required: At least two years of recent experience in acute-care setting or three years’ experience as a registered nurse in a health care setting such as ambulatory, hospice, or home-health. Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499). Proficient, competent clinical skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment, as well as seek guidance when appropriate or indicated. The ability to function autonomously in a non-structured environment and shift priorities as required/requested. Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, priority management skills. Familiarity with Excel and willingness to learn Excel functions, including tables, statistics, sort, filter, pivot tables, visualizations. Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present data, communicate concerns, and engage stakeholders in a clear, confident, and respectful manner. Strong commitment to data accuracy, completeness, and integrity. Desired: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing (BSN), healthcare, public health, data analytics, business, or related field (or equivalent experience). Two years of data abstraction experience with national quality registries or regulatory programs. Two years of experience in healthcare quality, data analytics, or related field.
