Job Description Come join us - Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware is seeking an APRN/PA to join our Clinical Research team . This APRN/PA will function independently and collaboratively to provide specialty medical care for patients from 0 through 20 years participating in Clinical Research Trials. This position is Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00pm with no nights or weekends. The incumbent will coordinate, implement and complete clinical research studies or clinical trials by assisting with IRB submissions, assisting in regulatory document preparation and collection, in-servicing research teams, recruiting study participants, obtaining parental permission/assent, educating parents/participants, scheduling and conducting study procedures/examinations, collecting and recording study data, maintaining study records, interfacing with study sponsors, participation in sponsor study monitoring visits. Excellent written, phone, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Interested applicants should possess the ability to function at a high level in an interprofessional team environment as well as an independent provider. Essential Functions Include Assessment, diagnosis, management, and follow up visits for patients enrolled in Clinical Research projects. Provide concise documentation of patient encounters including diagnoses, management strategies and follow up plan. Identifies patient and family needs for additional resources and initiates appropriate referrals. Provides patient and family teaching based on identified learning needs. Evaluates compliance with the prescribed treatment regimen through phone calls, emails, app messaging, patient/family assessments, and outpatient visits as needed. Acts as patient advocate and liaison. Acts as role model for other office members to foster professional development. Utilizes advanced knowledge and specialized skill in nursing practice in accordance with the state law, hospital bylaws, and hospital policy. Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all age groups Including neonates, Infants, toddlers, school-aged children, adolescents, and young adults. Responsible for participation in departmental initiatives and programmatic development including the identification of opportunities to improve services, offer recommendations, and implement actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation. Participates in the conduct of parental permission/assent process for assigned studies; schedules study visits with study participants in accordance with study protocols; develops strategies to assure compliance of study participants with protocol requirements. Performs clinical data gathering and measurements and monitoring of data integrity, including data completeness, accuracy and quality. Maintains study databases. Mentors new clinical research coordinators. Participates in training nursing and ancillary study staff for study purposes; recruits, screens and enrolls sufficient number of study participants in conformance with protocol requirements. Assists in identifying, reporting and following-up on Serious Adverse Events. Assists in the maintenance of study medication accountability records; prepares clinical specimens for shipment to central laboratories. Coordinates monitoring activities with Sponsor’s representative(s). Completes Case Report Forms; responds to sponsor queries, prepares for audits by sponsor, IRB and/or the FDA/DHHS. Requirements Must be a graduate of an accredited Pediatric Nurse Program (or) graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program Three years of related pediatric Advanced Practice clinical experience preferred. Current unrestricted Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License or Physician Assistant license to practice in the state(s) in which privileges are sought (DE and PA); Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification via National Certification Center; BLS and PALS Certification upon hire. This is for eleven 12-hour shifts in a 6-week schedule, 12 hour rotating shifts with weekend and holiday requirements. 5 West is a 24-bed unit has been designated as the Hematology/Transplant and Cellular Therapy and Endocrine unit for the Nemours/ Alfred I. du Pont Hospital for Children. This step-down unit provides inpatient care for pediatric patients requiring services from the Hematology/ Oncology, Transplant and Cellular Therapy, and Endocrine subspecialties. Admitting diagnoses include but are not limited to leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, neuroblastomas, solid organ malignancies, sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, diabetes, and other types of genetic and immune disorders. In addition, stem cell and bone marrow donors are cared for on this unit. The type of patient care provided in this area is complex due to patient diagnosis, the intensity of therapy, the criticality of patient condition, and the extensive patient/family issues that necessitate nursing intervention. Position Description Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Physicians – Behavioral Health is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing outpatient Behavioral Health practice. This full-time position provides diagnostic evaluation and medication management follow up visits for patients with psychiatric illness. The aim is to provide time limited interventions to optimize the psychiatric medication plan, reduce symptoms with the goal of transition of care to return the patient to primary care for long term management of chronic conditions. This position would be at one of our two primary locations, LGHP BH practice 802 New Holland Avenue or Suburban Outpatient Pavilion on Harrisburg Pike, reporting to the managing physician Dr. Taylor. The PMHNP would participate in our structured APP onboarding and mentorship program, which provides two hours of weekly mentorship with a psychiatrist and an hour-long weekly APP clinical collaboration meeting with other APPs, both of which support professional practice and growth. This position may require some travel to satellite offices. Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and this would be the expected schedule during onboarding and for the first 90-120 days. After 90-120 days, this role could be eligible for 4 10 hour days and could be eligible for one day work from home telehealth; this is not guaranteed and could be subject to change based on business needs and potential changes to telehealth reimbursement. This role offers a unique opportunity to partner closely with oncology teams to provide comprehensive supportive and palliative care for patients living with cancer. The outpatient palliative oncology clinician focuses on improving quality of life through expert symptom management, advance care planning, goals-of-care discussions, and psychosocial support for patients and their families. The APP will work collaboratively with medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, and inpatient palliative care teams to ensure seamless continuity of care across the cancer journey. The APP will manage symptoms commonly associated with cancer and cancer-directed therapies, including pain, fatigue, nausea, anorexia, dyspnea, anxiety, depression, and other complex physical and emotional concerns. In addition, the APP will facilitate discussions regarding patient values, treatment preferences, and future healthcare planning to ensure care remains aligned with individual goals. This position offers the opportunity to develop longitudinal relationships with patients and families while serving as an integral member of a multidisciplinary oncology care team dedicated to patient-centered, evidence-based care.
