Job Description The Department of Ambulatory Care Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing / Nurse Practitioner, Suite D Pediatrics. The successful candidate will: Provide primary care services to individuals and families; this will include care for incumbents own panel of patients, as well as seeing walk-in patients of the practice as needed. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing for Maternal Child Health, the successful candidate will: Serve as a content and clinical expert in the neonatal intensive care unit. Collaborate effectively as a team leader serving as a resource to the nursing staff, in order to optimize the delivery of patient care for this most fragile group of patients. Provide patent care service by evaluating current nursing practices, and plan, manage and deliver continuing nursing education and training for all nursing staff to meet any and all best practice initiatives put forth by professional organizations and regulatory agencies.
