This includes the management of high-risk obstetrical, medical, surgical, respiratory and cardiovascular patients. The specialized training of the RN-Flight Nurse Specialist allows for the provision of care to critically ill and injured patients through the use of ventilatory support, continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, including intra-aortic balloon and other cardiac assist devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross or willing to obtain with six months of employment One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least two years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Two years of recent cardiac RN experience Cardiac experience Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
