Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing: Supervises all nursing staff in the facility Development and implementation of nursing policy and procedure Overseeing the hiring and continued employment of nursing staff Ensuring there is adequate nursing staff, and that the staff's skills remain current Overseeing nursing employee conduct Being knowledgeable of incidents at the facility Assessing the health needs of each resident Requirements of the Director of Nursing: · Must have a valid Pennsylvania RN license · Prior Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing setting · Must have long term care experience · Must have strong leadership skills and experience · Must have strong clinical background & knowledge #6447 Assists the RN by performing patient care activities delegated to the unlicensed nursing support staff as well as additional specific functions for which he/she has been prepared. Incorporates the concepts of the Hospital's Customer Service Program into all aspects of patient care activities. Accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Trade School Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Program or current Nursing student with satisfactory completion of at least one clinical rotation Required or Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required Experience 1 year experience in a Nursing Assistant role Preferred Licenses Basic Life Support Required 
Caregiver Duties and Responsibilities: Offering companionship to patients Taking clients to their medical appointments, the grocery store and other important places Managing medication Preparing meals when needed Providing care across a variety of settings, including group homes and day service programs Keeping the house clean and doing laundry when needed Providing bathing and dressing assistance Keeping proper care records Encouraging socialization and participation in community activities Communicating with medical professionals about the patient care plan Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment Caregiver Qualifications and Skills: Experience with Alzheimer’s or dementia care Mental health training for patients dealing with social, emotional or mental health concerns First aid and CPR training so they can respond in an emergency Training in any special areas of care you provide
