Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Assistant-Tisch 5/6 Endoscopy Unit-Evening Shift (35 Hours). In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in providing patient care. Job Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned. Assists patients and communicate with Physicians to obtain prescription renewals as needed. Answers telephone in treatment area and assists staff in scheduling treatments. Cleans and sterilizes designated equipment after use. Assists physicians with procedures (e.g. GI procedures, all medical exams). Assists patient with obtaining food, toileting, ambulating and maintaining comfort. Assures completion of patient charges as per policy. Ensures exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient. Assists with light housekeeping duties which include spills. Stocks exam room/treatment rooms with medical supplies, linen, and designated chart forms. Notify the Office Manager when supplies are low. Ensures chart is available, with relevant lab work and test reports if indicated, for the physician when the physician sees the patient. Assist with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas. Assists in escorting patients and specimens throughout the facility. Obtains vital signs, weights, and EKGs when needed, and all other tests within the scope of the practice. Assist with blood collection/phlebotomy as needed. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution OR upon hire hold a current medical assistant Certification from a Nationally Recognized accredited institution (such as American Association of Medical Assistant(AAMA); American Medical Technologies (AMT); National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); National Healthcare Association (NHA)). Preferred Qualifications: MA experience preferred. EKG and/or Spirometry experience preferred.Second language mastery. Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor plays a key leadership role in managing nursing operations during assigned shifts at Constant Care Agency’s partner nursing facilities in the Bronx. The RN Supervisor ensures that residents receive safe, high-quality care consistent with the standards of practice, regulatory requirements, and the mission of Constant Care Agency. This position requires strong clinical judgment, supervisory ability, and compassion for the elderly and long-term care population. Primary Responsibilities Clinical Supervision Oversee all nursing and direct care staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) on assigned units or shifts. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of nursing care in accordance with physicians’ orders, facility policies, and resident care plans. For Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) only: Provides health education, social support and community linkages to meet the needs of pregnant and postpartum, first-time mothers and their infants. Also responsible for adhering to NFP national guidelines. • Assesses the physical, social and psychological needs and environmental conditions of the patient/client through professional knowledge, skills of observation, interviewing, and physical examination to develop a plan of care. • Understands, interprets, and implements reimbursement protocols; determines the billing source for patient/client care. When you join PPGNY as a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide direct clinical care across a full spectrum of sexual and reproductive health services, including family planning, abortion care, colposcopy, and LEEP. As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, this role requires flexibility to rotate across PPGNY health centers. You will practice within the full scope of New York State RN licensure and in accordance with PPGNY standards of care. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SRH Clinical Care and ICA Patient Care (90%) · Reviews the patient health history for completeness and records findings. Alerts APC regarding critical information about the patient’s chief complaint, history of present illness, and other current or past medical or social problems. · Provides care to patients receiving family planning, abortion, colposcopy, LEEP, and other GYN services according to PPGNY medical policies and procedures under the direction of APC, or physician. · Provide direct nursing care throughout the abortion care continuum—pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure—including preparation, continuous monitoring, and recovery. Assist in the procedure room and recovery area, ensuring clinical stability and emotional support for patients. Administer and monitor medications used to induce sedation in accordance with PPGNY protocols and RN scope of practice. Ensure safe, timely documentation, patient education, and post-sedation evaluation. · Accurately documents and administers medications as ordered by the provider and provides associated teaching. · Documents competently in the electronic medical record using the correct PPGNY templates and forms. · Arranges for interpreters for patients with communication barriers. · Collaborates with members of a multi-disciplinary health care team & provides care within New York State RN scope of practice. · Assists in promoting optimum center operations, excellent patient service and compliance with both agency and funding source policies and regulations. · Participates in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established goals for productivity. · Adheres to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints. · Assists in the orientation and training of new RN/LPN or unlicensed medical personnel on the center team as needed. · Performs other educational and experience related duties as required. · Assists in abortion service in a variety of functions including abortion counseling, · Provides health education and nursing care related to family planning, reproductive health, abortion service, transgender health services, and STI’s to all clients. · Provide accurate patient centered, non-judgmental, education according to MS&G and signs informed consent related to visit. · Performs laboratory tests as ordered, completes laboratory requisitions, packages labs for transport according to PPGNY lab procedures. Performs daily controls per lab protocols. · Follows all safety and security procedures and guidelines. · Participates in agency infection prevention and quality control initiatives and protocols. · Notifies patients of laboratory results and educates regarding clinician plan for follow up. · Screens and follows up on patient phone calls in collaboration with center APC or PPGNY physicians. Maintenance of Clinical Skills and Competencies (10%) · Maintain licensure, certifications, and competencies in abortion care and reproductive health as required by PPGNY, PPFA, NYS DOH. Participates in regular competency checks and training for all new services, tests, and skills as assigned. Performs and maintains job duties within scope of practice based on RN competencies, NYS Licensure, BLS, ACLS, PPFA Privileging and/or specific education and training. Must be able to walk up and down stairs. Requires lifting or moving of patients/supplies/equipment. Visual acuity sufficient to perform frequent work on a computer screen and review printed reports and other materials. Requires the ability to hear and to communicate orally with others. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, and medical equipment and will require reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling.
