Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Anesthetist (Certified Registered) position is to administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in four general categories: (1) pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation; (2) anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence; (3) post-anesthesia care; and (4) perianesthetic and clinical support functions. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Education Program with a Master’s Degree in a related field; or graduation from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education programs prior to January 1998 is required. Candidate must have sufficient sensory capacity to observe the patient and patient monitors. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both academic and health care settings. Must show evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams and possess demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, and effectively function in the face of uncertainties inherent in clinical practice. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care provided, including restorative care for residents in a manner that is reflective the ESCC Core Values. Directs and supervises CNAs, unit a clerk, LPN and other RN’s when in charge. Establishes effective working relations with staff residents and family members. Ensures that the Center and the Department of Nursing policies and procedures are follow in the planning implementation and evaluation of care. Review medication administration records for completeness at end of shift. Give and receives the nursing report and follow through on any special instructions. When in charge makes periodic checks to ensure that prescribed treatments are being properly administered by LPN’s and CNAs and to evaluate the residents physical and emotional status. Participates in the orientation of new staff residents and families to the unit. Carries out restorative and rehabilitative programs including teaching resident to wash/feed/dress self as appropriate. Ensures that the facility policy on the use of restraints is followed and that documentation is timely and accurate. Ensure that the unit is kept clean free from clutter and that the supply room door is kept locked; request the supervisor’s intervention as necessary to achieve this. Follows infection control standards and ensures that assigned personnel do likewise. Keep abreast of new nursing policies and procedures. Keep nurses notes, plan of care and all other documentation pertaining to your assigned resident timely accurate and complete. Carries out end of shift responsibility e.g. supplies are available for next shift’. Unit is clean and tidy; all documentation is complete and accurate. Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator. Qualifications Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited RN program. Qualifications & Requirements Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. Duties are to provide primary care for the high-risk newborn infants in these locations in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and the New Jersey State Advanced Nurse Practice Act. Participates under the direction of the Director of Neonatology and in a collaborative relationship with Attending Neonatologist, Nurse Manager and Nursing staff in the Intensive Care and Intermediate Care Nurseries and Labor and Delivery Room. This position acts as the designated liaison who facilitates and coordinates the transfer of patients into and within University Hospital. Works with referring agencies, hospitals, clinics, and the emergency department to ensure safe, timely transition of patients and clinically manages patient movement between units from the PACU, Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, procedural clinics and pre-admits for all service lines. Overview About the Role The Clinic Nurse Manager is an experienced clinical leader responsible for managing assigned areas and multiple services within the assigned practice, supervising assigned patient care personnel during clinic operations. The Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards, policies, and procedures. The Clinic Nurse Manager is seen as an expert in clinical practice topics and is proficient in personnel management and directs care to meet the unit demands in an efficient and cost-effective manner, as well as assisting with clinic budget management. This position reports to the Administrative Director of the practice and the Executive Director Clinical Operations. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Maintains nursing and clinical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures within the assigned practice in the Ambulatory Care Center. “Owns” clinic operations and exercises broad oversight for clinic patient throughput, provider performance, and clinical and/or support services. Implements treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administering medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and performing diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures. Collaborates in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines. Assists in medical or minor surgical procedures, implements nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and documents nursing encounters using SOAP charting, ensuring effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel. Overview About the Role The Oncology RN Clinical Care Coordinator (OCC) works collaboratively with an oncologist in delivering care to their assigned patient population. This is an outpatient position and requires oncology clinical experience and sound nursing knowledge related to the care of patients undergoing cancer treatment to assist with the education, the coordination of care, and ongoing assessment of the patient's response to treatment. The OCCC assesses patients for symptoms, clinical and psychological needs, treatment-related concerns, and barriers to care. Provides education regarding diagnosis, treatment, medications, side effects, and symptom management. Connects patients and families with appropriate resources as determined by the healthcare team. Functions as the primary clinical point of contact for hematology and oncology patients and follow them throughout the continuum of care. Provides telephone and MyChart triage, escalates concerns to the provider as appropriate, and support physicians and APNs with patient questions, clinical follow-up, coordination of care, and completion of disability and other treatment-related forms. Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary oncology team to close the loop on outstanding test, referrals, and follow-up needs, and to prevent gaps or delays on care. Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in a hospital-based practice required, preferably in Oncology. Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred. Strong team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills required. Current CPR certification required. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC Provider Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate and/or Radiation Therapy Certificate required, or must be obtained within the first ninety (90) days of employment. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse position is to participate under the administrative, clinical direction and leadership of the Director of the Neonatology Program and in collaborative relationship in the (Mother-Baby Unit), Neonatal Intensive Care Units (FICN and FIN Nurseries), Labor and Delivery areas with the other healthcare providers. Interacts collaboratively with the nurses and other multidisciplinary team members. Duties are to provide primary care for the high-risk newborn infants in these locations in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and the New Jersey State Advanced Nurse Practice Act. Participates under the direction of the Director of Neonatology and in a collaborative relationship with Attending Neonatologist, Nurse Manager and Nursing staff in the Intensive Care and Intermediate Care Nurseries and Labor and Delivery Room. Interacts in a collaborative way with a multidisciplinary team as well as with community agencies including DCP&P and community nursing services. Measurement-criteria are "as observed by the Director of Neonatology in collaboration with the Chief APN of the Hospital” for all performance standards, unless otherwise indicated.
