Purpose of Position: Under the direction of the Paraprofessional Team Leader the Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) performs assigned duties in the patient’s home in a safe and considerate manner as prescribed by the case manager. Perform additional tasks as may be assigned by the Team Leader and/or case manager, depending on the specific situation or on the Home Health Aide’s experience and capabilities. Example: routine uncomplicated colostomy case and decubitus care. Provides understanding and emotional support to patient and significant others. To be considered for the class, you must provide the following at the time of your interview: Completed Application Valid Photo Identification Social Security Card Since the class is only 16 days, no absences or tardiness is permitted. You must maintain a grade average of an 80 to continue in the course. Books and Supplies will be provided for you. You will be required to purchase one set of scrubs to wear every day to class and clinical. We will run a criminal background check as well as consult the Tennessee and/or National Abuse Registry for Children and Adults. No one with a felony conviction, certain misdemeanor charges, and/or found on the abuse registry can be admitted to the class. If you have been accepted into the class, you will be notified by email and/or phone. Students are chosen based on the facility need, shift availability of the candidate, entrance exam score, flexibility of the candidate, previous work history and attitude. The position provides technical nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations. This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including neonate through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. Education/Training/Experience JOB QUALIFICATIONS Required Graduate of an RN School of Nursing Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred BSN License/Certifications/Special Requirements Possesses current State RN license. Preferred Certification in nursing management and/or clinical specialty, CHPN. Currently certified in American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Health Care provider (CPR). Current Driver's license Current Car Insurance. Must maintain a MVR rating of no less than 6 points in order to operate any vehicle owned by Blessing Corporate Services.
