With an aging society, obesity and diabetes on the rise, and an uptick in surgical procedures, the number of patients with non-healing wounds that would benefit from expert care is dramatically increasing. As a result, the company is working to provide our differentiated, quality outcomes to as many patients that would benefit through our out-patient clinic partnerships. Reporting to the Program Director, the Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient. All Healogics employees must perform their job responsibilities according to all Healogics policies, Hospital policies, as well as to accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions. Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)’responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment. Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required Assist in vein clinic as assigned after Healogics Vein Clinic training completed Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills If CMA or LPN, may function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy Performs other duties as required. Required Education, Experience and Credentials: High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development) Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable in state of practice -to maintain throughout the duration of employment in this role. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties and Responsibilities: Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours. Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, medication cart, medication room, etc.), resident care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. Directs and supervises the day-to-day certified nursing assistant services for assigned unit to assure that care is being rendered in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Provides required resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans to ensure appropriate care. Takes and records residents blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, administers IV therapy to residents as ordered within license limitations, and provides respiratory care, e.g. oxygen, nebulizer treatments. Receives and transcribes physician’s orders to resident’s charts, Kardex/Care Medication Administration Record (“MAR”), treatment/care plans, as required. Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by the physician. Charts nurse’s notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as the resident’s response to the care. Completes the required forms upon admission, transfer, and/or discharge. Ensures the resident’s environment is as free from accidents and hazards. Immediately corrects/addresses potential safety risks as prudent and warranted. Makes written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of shift as required. Ensures that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained. Make recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards. All other duties, as assigned. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures. Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel. Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Education and Experience: Current CPR Certification required. Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 1 year of experience preferred. Long-Term care experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required. Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
