JOB SUMMARY: The Obstetrical Technician (OB Tech) is an integral clinical support role within the Women’s Health and Newborn Care Service Line, functioning across Labor & Delivery (L&D), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Mother/Baby units. The OB Tech provides supportive patient care, unit readiness, and procedural assistance, which can include serving as a surgical scrub for Cesarean Sections; under the direction of the Registered Nurse. This role is essential to maintaining patient safety, unit efficiency, regulatory readiness, and team responsiveness in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. Responsibilities flex based on unit acuity, patient care demands, and any supportive nursing care as determined by the Charge Nurse or Team Lead. The Obstetrical Technician functions under the direction of the professional registered nurse.
