Summary GENERAL SUMMARY The Office LPN performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice. Reports to department leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education. Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Current State license as a Practical Nurse (LPN) or Practical Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Pediatric experience preferred. CPR training required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing. This position will be Monday-Friday and will require one evening shift per week and a rotating Saturday shift. The shift will be based on the operational need. Two years of LPN and pediatric experience is preferred. The Licensed Practical Nurse performs routine nursing care of the ill, injured or infirm under the direction of a licensed professional (RN) nurse, nurse practitioner and/or a physician. The LPN participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in accordance with the scope of the LPN as defined by the State Board of Nursing and health system standards.
