Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, and a calm environment throughout the unit and shift. Receive/give the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, care for the dead/dying, etc., as required. Monitor your assigned personnel to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy and that nursing service personnel knock before entering the resident’s room. Performs other duties as assigned. Environmental Conditions - Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Summary GENERAL SUMMARY The Office LPN performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice. Reports to department leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education. Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Current State license as a Practical Nurse (LPN) or Practical Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Pediatric experience preferred. CPR training required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing. Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Roles in Medical Tower II: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search. WORKING CONDITIONS Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures.
