The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice is accountable for the provision of direct care to patients who may range in age from infancy to the elderly and demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Teamwork and Technology/Informatics. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice works closely with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. Responsibilities: Minimum Required Qualifications: RN Licensure is required, issued by the PA Board of Nursing or a Temporary Practice Permit until an RN license is obtained. Individuals with Temporary Practice Permits must sit for their NCLEX within 60 days of starting in their RN role. Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant - Med/Surg - Days

PRN 2 shifts per 6-week schedule No holidays, no weekends. WellSpan Waynesboro Med Surg is a fast-paced, 35-bed unit that prioritizes patient-centered care. Our unit is dedicated to providing high-quality care to adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Med Surg specializes in assessment, treatment, monitoring, and recovery of patients requiring medical management, post-operative care, telemetry monitoring, and interdisciplinary support. Our team is composed of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants who collaborate to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care focused on safety, healing, and positive patient outcomes. We pride ourselves on teamwork, communication, and advocacy for all. General Summary Provides clinical support services to patient care staff by performing a variety of duties related to patient care. Takes patient vital signs, assists patients with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.), inventories and replenishes supplies and equipment, and performs special assigned duties such as performing EKGs and Point-of-Care testing.
