Incorporate research-based evidence into practice, and Strengthen commitment to oncology nursing through promotion of professional growth and job satisfaction. Newly licensed BSN nurses complete a 12-week clinical orientation rotating through 3 ambulatory areas. While in each clinical area, nurse residents are assigned to work with a preceptor. Upon completion of the 12-week rotation and based on openings and best fit for both the nurse resident and clinical area, the nurse resident is matched to an area. For the first twelve months of practice, nurse residents will participate in programs outside of their unit for one or two days each month.
