Provides direct patient treatment, including but not limited to: assists with simple wound care and repair, joint injection and aspiration, administration of local anesthetic and digital blocks, joint and fracture reduction, and application of braces, splints, and other DME and soft goods. Responsibilities also include surgical first assist in the operating room. Orders radiologic and laboratory tests and studies as necessary to complete history and physical examinations. Assesses patients and assesses normal and abnormal findings obtained from history and physical examination as well as radiology and ancillary studies. Plans and implements care of patients, including; EMR documentation, ordering additional studies, communicates with supervising Physician and additional staff, and prescribing appropriate medications.
