The Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care (CTICU) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery CTICU multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, residents, fellows, and RNs providing intensive care services to patients and families. The CTICU APP role promotes independent clinical practice within a highly collaborative and established team model and is well supported with dedicated 24/7 in-house CTICU intensivist support. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent and collaborative patient management from admission to the CTICU through transfer of care to the acute care setting. Responsibilities The Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (1.0 FTE) provides care for oncology and hematology patients in the outpatient setting. This individual will be a member of the GI consult service that sees all Fred Hutch patients at the Sloan SLU outpatient ambulatory facility. They will work with the GI physicians and GI clinic nurse. Primary responsibilities include initial evaluation, physical examinations, development of a treatment plan, progress notes, and ongoing follow up of patients on whom a GI consult has been requested, either in person or by telemedicine. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Perform initial consultations for GI referrals for conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional and uninvestigated dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, functional constipation, chronic diarrhea, peptic ulcer disease, uncomplicated hemorrhoids, anal fissures, colorectal cancer screening, MASLD with FIB-4 < 1.3, mildly elevated transaminases, and chronic hepatitis B. See return visits to the GI clinic for follow-up after initial consultation. The APP supports evaluation, education, and longitudinal management for patients with diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal and pituitary conditions, and metabolic bone disorders. The role emphasizes chronic disease management, patient empowerment, and timely specialty access.Responsibilities • Evaluate and manage adult patients with endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and osteoporosis. • Conduct focused assessments, order and interpret diagnostic testing, and develop evidence-based treatment plans. • Support diabetes care including insulin management, CGM interpretation, and patient education. • Monitor and adjust medications and hormone therapies under the direction of the collaborating endocrinologist. • Educate patients and families on disease processes, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals. • Collaborate with physicians, primary care providers, pharmacists, and nutritionists for coordinated endocrine care. • Document care accurately, timely, and in compliance with the EHR standards. • Follow-up on labs, imaging, and referrals to ensure continuity of care. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, team meetings, and case discussions. • Demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, commitment to team based, evidence-based outpatient endocrinology care. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
