Nurse Practitioner

The Infusion for Health Nurse Practitioner Manager will play a crucial role in providing clinical leadership, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring high-quality patient care within multiple ambulatory infusion centers. This leadership position will be responsible for managing a diverse team, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Medical Assistants, and Mixologists, in delivering high-quality specialty infusions and injections to patients. Able to demonstrate infection control precautions and sterile technique. Possess knowledge of IV medications, biologics, fluids, and blood components. Skilled in drawing labs using aseptic technique. Ability to engage effectively in partnership with referring providers, deescalate challenging patient situations, and respond to grievances assuring the highest level of service to our partners and patients. The Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA) will be deployed at UWMC and Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC) at the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake (UWMC-ML) and will provide hematologic/oncologic related evaluation and medical management of patients within the Platinum Service. The Platinum Inpatient ARNP/PA-C Is a Nurse Practitioner Or Certified Physician Assistant Who Provides Evaluation And Medical Management To Inpatient Medical Oncology And Hematology Patients At The University Of Washington Medical Center (UWMC). The ARNP/PA-C Provides care to patients admitted to the hospital for cancer-directed therapy, acute illness, and complications related to therapy, underlying disease, and concurrent illness. Performs clinical assessment and management of medical needs, performs procedures, participates in goals-of-care discussions, and consults with professional peers working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician. This position is hired at 1.0 FTE and Teaching Associates in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position requires some weekend and holiday coverage. The anticipated start date is November 1, 2026. Responsibilities Works as part of an interdisciplinary team on the inpatient units at UWMC working 12 hour rotating day shifts to cover 7 days per week. Performs complex and problem-focused H&P’s; rounds daily with team and attending physician. Evaluates and manages all aspects of care for medical oncology and hematology inpatients. Performs procedures including bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice. Collaborates and consults with other disciplines and services. Communicates changes in patient status, care needs, and urgent issues to the outpatient primary oncology team, and facilitates seamless transitions from inpatient to outpatient care. Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees. Actively participates in clinical aspects of research trials. Documents patient care data in accordance with the UWP policies. Other duties as assigned to meet dynamic inpatient UWMC needs Salary The base salary range for this position will be: $10,917 - $16,788 per month ($131,000 - $201,456 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This provider would round on low-risk postpartum patients, provide discharge counseling, lactation support and assist with care coordination and decision making for the postpartum management of hypertensive disorders, diabetes, or other medical conditions. Responsibilities The Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (1.0 FTE) provides care for oncology and hematology patients in the outpatient setting. This individual will be a member of the GI consult service that sees all Fred Hutch patients at the Sloan SLU outpatient ambulatory facility. They will work with the GI physicians and GI clinic nurse. Primary responsibilities include initial evaluation, physical examinations, development of a treatment plan, progress notes, and ongoing follow up of patients on whom a GI consult has been requested, either in person or by telemedicine. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Perform initial consultations for GI referrals for conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional and uninvestigated dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, functional constipation, chronic diarrhea, peptic ulcer disease, uncomplicated hemorrhoids, anal fissures, colorectal cancer screening, MASLD with FIB-4 < 1.3, mildly elevated transaminases, and chronic hepatitis B. Perform initial consultations for referrals requesting GI procedures (colonoscopy, EGD) to assess suitability for moderate vs general sedation and review prep with patient. See return visits to the GI clinic for follow-up after initial consultation. Perform point-of-care Fibroscans in clinic for determination of liver and splenic stiffness in patients with suspected portal hypertension. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position will be: $10,000 - $14,500 per month ($120,000 - $174,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
