Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Circulating/Scrub) position is to be accountable for achieving patient goals through creating and maintaining a safe environment for the patient undergoing procedures while anesthetized or sedated. The role of the circulating RN is patient centered, and is essential for timely delivery of quality care and optimal patient outcomes in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The OR nurse provides high quality nursing care through patient assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. Using sound nursing judgment, critical thinking skills, and interpersonal communication skills, the RN is able to ensure positive patient outcomes. This role is a member of the surgical team and performs/behaves in accordance with expectations set by the team and Perioperative leadership. The OR Technician II performs various duties to assist with surgical procedures and related operating room activities. The OR Technician II delivers care as reflected in the Association of Surgical Technologists’ Recommended Standards of Practice in a manner that is cost-effective without compromising quality of care. The OR Technician II possesses knowledge of the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. The OR Technician II demonstrates competency to scrub for minor/major surgical and endoscopic surgical procedures. An Operating Room technician II is a non-certified technician.
